Due to an II issue, I had one extended once. However, in other occasions, I have been unsucessful. Give it a shot YMMV.

You may also want to check to make sure that the ACs you have are likley to provide you with an exchange you can use before paying to have it extended. Most of the ACs are very restricted based on a grid which determines which resorts in what season are available using the AC. I have two ACs that don't pull even a 1 BR Marriott in places like Phoenix and Vegas during off season or even during flexchange period.
You may very well have a different type of AC...

I had an AC that I got for depositing a March week at Shadow Ridge. It had the grid and the grid is places and seasons no one wants. However during flexchange period it saw most smaller units. I actually was able to get a Studio at Marriott Ko Olina for October. It will accomidate the extra couple we have going in the other 2-2BR units I booked. 1 of the 2BR units was with DC points and the other was an exchange from a White Studio from DSV II.

So some of the the AC's actually do grab something good but really only in flexchange.

I am very disappointed with the AC I just got for a summer HHI deposit. I'm trying to use it for April in Orlando and all I'm seeing are studios. I do have a request in for something better, but I'm not too hopeful. I plan to call II to see if they can get me into at least a one bedroom (Marriott of course) using the AC. I think you can sometimes get things that don't show up online. It's worth a try.
