I want Harborside At Atlantis!

I would like to try my luck at exchanging into Harborside at Atlantis.

I have just deposited with Interval. I am planning to make a request for 2008 travel.

So here is my question.......
Do Harborside owners have floating weeks or fixed? If they are floating, how far in advance can they make their reservations?

My theory on this is to put in my request early, and just sit and wait awhile. But I was wondering when I could expect things to become available, and at what point I should give up. example... If by January 2007, I've had no luck... give up?

I think I'm pretty much all vacationed out for 2006 and 2007, with 4 trips planned for the next 12 months. The soonest I really care to use my deposited week is Nov/Dec 2007 or Jan/Feb 2008.

Some weeks are fixed with the option to float, but that really doesn't matter when it comes to Interval deposits. Owners can't deposit directly into II -- they must call Starwood to make requests. Starwood deposits for them, and is not required to deposit Harborside weeks. Instead, they can deposit other weeks from within the network (e.g., Mission Hills, Kierland). This is one of the reasons you never see truly "prime" weeks at II. They typically seem to deposit: January, maybe early February, late April (after Easter), May, September, October, early December. But, since the new phase is not sold out, there's always a chance they'll "developer deposit" weeks outside their normal patterns. You never know.

I don't think Starwood EVER deposits anything more than a year in advance. The furthest I remember seeing is 9-10 months. So, if you're looking for January 2008, you probably wouldn't have a chance of getting filled prior to March/April of 2007. Also, unlike RCI, II gives the week to the person with the highest trading power (not the person with the oldest request).

I'm not trying to discourage you from making the request (it's a great place -- you'll love it). I have one of those "what the heck, a miracle could happen" requests pending right now! Just thought this historical information would be helpful.

Starwood owners can do a direct exchange through the Starwood Exchange system, without going through II or any other exchange company.

Also, for the first few days that a Starwood week gets deposited into II, I believe that only other Starwood weeks can see it.
