I'm booking our normal Florida vacation we are lucky to take every summer.. of course I see if I have 15,000 points I can stay at these hotels for "free".. as a single mom I don't have anywhere close to that amount so my question is there anyway to just purchase points without getting into any type of contract. On wyndham site I can only buy up to 5k and that doesn't cover it but, the price is $349 per night!!! (Ridiculous) I see all these points on EBay and I don't want to buy something or get myself into something I don't want. I just want to purchase someone else's unused points any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for helping!

You can rent a reservation from Wyndham owner. That is your best bet without to commit to a points purchase and associated Maintenance Fees.

I am not sure what hotels for Free that you are talking about. Wyndham points are for the timeshare division NOT for hotel stays.

These are two different types of points currency. In the Wyndham Rewards hotel program, 15,000 points will get you a free night at most Wyndham hotels. Here, we talk about Wyndham vacation resorts which are timeshares. Totally different points.

However, as an occasional user of Wyndham Rewards for hotels, I've learned that sometimes the points + cash deals are a good bargain. I presume you've already looked into that possibility, but I just wanted to throw it out there. Last November we stayed in Savannah for an event weekend and while the going rate was over $200 night, I was able to book rewards points + cash at something like 5,000 points + $60 or so.

But again, not the type of points we typically discuss here.

Short of Redweek, I find it so difficult to find an owner who rents points.

I am not sure why it would be difficult, there are plenty here on TUG that would do that, I for one, like Ron, and a several others that I am aware of. Check the Marketplace ad would be advised too.

Well I was looking into to both. Since we go every year I would eventually like to look into using time share points but I want to go in blind. I had posted about it on Facebook and a friend attached this forum to their response. It's pretty awesome to read others experiences so I don't get sucked in or I can get the same reallygood deals

Where are you looking to stay exactly? You sound pretty conflicted about what you're trying to do. You said you don't want to purchase your own points, but then also said you are interested in it.

Ron technically is not renting points, but reservations. There is no way to transfer Club Wyndham points between owners.

Back to the OP's issue, I'm not sure that Wyndham Rewards Points can be transferred, but if they are anything like airline frequent flier miles, there is probably an option to do so. That said, this is not the forum for such a market.
