I was due for a haircut when all this covid19 stuff started. Here we are 6 weeks in & the Governor says another month sooooo....I started just trimming my bangs that wasn't enough so I cut it. To me, it doesn't look to bad and it feels so much better but I am sure, the next time I go to have it done... I am going to hear.. What happened to your hair.

Anyone else decide to become their own hairstylist? When I was in high school, I had a gypsy shag. The stylist gathered all on top of my head in a pony tail and then cut all but 2 inshes off. I did the same, but left more than 2 inches. DH didn't notice so I guess it it will have to do...at least for another month.

I was overdue for a haircut when we started sheltering in. So now it's starting to get a bit like my college days. Like David Crosby, if I did cut my hair, it could only be sides and back. Let the Freak Flag fly!

I picked up a couple of headbands when I was grocery shopping Saturday. My hair is layered so I don't dare have my hubby attempt to cut it and my bangs were irritating my eyes. On the bright side of things, Fred Meyer had everything I needed for the first time since the middle of March..

I’ve cut my bangs twice. Cut DH’s hair too. DD had no confidence when I had him sit in chair on driveway but it turned out pretty good.

I sent the hair clippers to my DS. I used to use them on his hair when he was little and played a lot of sports...buzz cut was all I could manage with my limited hair cutting skills. His GF was able to recreate the look this weekend! Everyone is happy. I swear that kid’s hair could grow out in no time flat and made him look like Eddie Muenster. That’s why I started cutting it in the first place, all those years ago.

I have been cutting my own hair for a long while, just did another trim out on the deck yesterday. Looks good enough. I don't have bangs, I have longish layers that just need to get layered again periodically. I must attend to the split ends (I have very fine hair) which will emerge even though I use no products other than shampoo and conditioner, and rarely blow dry.

I gave myself the same cut last week. I'd been doing my bangs ... but the back and sides had grown too long, too heavy. I'm glad the cut restored volume to my crown, but I don't particularly care for look. My hair prefers chunky layers. This cut is triggering a "frizzy" response with far too much volume on the sides w/out any sense of organization. Oh, well. I can still pull it into a loose french braid ... my go-to look these days. I'm also back to wearing hats!

 My hair is now a wreck, I never realized how incredibly fast it grew in length. had it cut around March 10th, and then all the beauty shops closed. I have straight brown hair, and it has grown so long I feel like I look like the end of a broom with brown bristles o_O:eek:. I am afraid to try to cut it myself, BUT if this goes on much longer I may try. All the bounce is gone too, I may have to cut my own if I don't stop looking at it in the mirror:eek:

I cut my bangs yesterday - they are fine, but I'm sure that when I eventually go back to the hair dresser, she will be able to tell. I also used a beard trimmer (his not mine) to trim the back and sides of my husband's hair - he wears his hair short.

I cut mine and DH’s too. Mine is a bob so it took me two efforts to get the bottom even all around, but strategically placed mirrors helped me. DH has very short hair, so I used the attachment #2 on the sides and #3 on the top. It came out pretty good.

I’ve always trimmed my own bangs, so this was not a big deal to me. However, if I had layered hair that might be more difficult.

My hair is looking really bad as I get my haircut every 8 weeks and my appointment was for March 13th and that's the day Michigan shut down...So my hair is now 16.5 weeks past due and its horrible. I will be getting a wig

In the past 11-1/2 months I have had two professional haircuts. One in January and one in September. Now we are locked down again. No haircuts.

I cut my own hair after about 6 months with a scissors when my hair was tickling me. I couldn't cut the back though. So I had my wife do it. I recall hearing long "sniiiiip" following by a chunk of hair hitting the floor. I asked a friend of mine how the back looked. He said, "well, I'm sure that your wife did the best that she could." In other words- - it looked pretty choppy.

Two weeks ago I received my "Flowbee". Three months since my last haircut. So, I used my Flowbee to cut my hair. It actually works pretty well. Hint: It pays to read the instructions. I still had my wife "block off" a small portion of the back with my electric razor/trimmer. So, I would give a two thumbs up for Flowbee. I think that they call it flowbee because it makes noise that sounds like a bee.

This was just what I was going to post. My hair seems to be in a constant ponytail. It is just easier. The few times I have had to go out to meet someone, I take the time to style my hair, but by the time I am back home it is back up on a pony.

I’m ponytail at home and twist and jaw clip when I go out. So much easier than having to style and then lose it within an hour due to my fine hair and our humidity! I tell my hairdresser that she can cut it anyway she wants as long as it will go up.

Cliff hasn't been to a barber since last January. He refused to go during one of the "on" times during California's on/off schedule for hair dressers. I have no expertise whatsoever, but manage to keep him looking half way decent using his clippers. He trusts me with his hair more than I trust me!
