HVC deedback questions

Greetings All, this is my first time posting so please be patient. A little background, we own 17,500 points which started out with DRI, bought into the HVC Max program and now life circumstances have changed, and we no longer want and / or need this timeshare. We have started in the transitions program but with it being paused and no update from HVC on it resuming, our thought is to not pay our upcoming MF. I understand the collection and credit avenue, but has anyone proceeded down this route and been sued by HVC or received a judgement in favor of HVC?

I understand and agree with the way you describe no longer wanting and/or needing a timeshare. This is the situation that many owners will confront either through changes in income or the natural course of aging which everyone will eventually confront. ALL timeshare companies need to comprehend and deal with this. Ignoring it is just making the maintenance of the other owners higher do to delinquent maintenance. This makes owning of timeshares less desirable for everyone. It is better for the owners of a resort for their HOA or the Developer to Deedback and then rent or sell a timeshare unit rather than have a owner default on their maintenance for numbers of years until the HOA or Developer decides to go throught the costly and timeconsuming Foreclosure Process.

Please post your question in the HVC forum because most of us are unfamiliar with HVC/DRI.

btw, if you still have a loan on your recent purchase then you will not be eligible for the HVC/DRI transition program.

The only legal action that DRI/HVC is likely to take will be a lien and foreclosure action. If all you owe are annual maintenance fees, then only the trust HOA is able to file foreclosure. They will simply take back the timeshare. They may start out with collection calls trying to get you to pay.

Have you tried giving away your points for $0 to someone else first?
