Hurricane Idalia

We never leave in Summer or fall without batting down the hatches.
We do what we can but since our condo is rented out all summer we cant really put the patio furniture inside. Our property management folks went over this morning and the renters had already moved everything inside before they left on the weekend.

We haven't heard from our DS since this am and at that time it was just starting to rain.

We’re at World Golf Village and it’s been hot and sunny most of the day. We did have a brief shower about 4pm but that’s it, so far.

Watching and waiting, we are in Osceola County and so far no cancelations for tomorrow.
Going away for Labor Day Weekend Wedding Thursday, hope our flight will go on schedule.
Hope everyone stays safe in the line of the storm.

Interestingly, the rain prediction forecast models show St Augustine getting less than an inch of rain.

if we see an inch here in jax ill be shocked, its still moving due north.

first band about to roll thru now.

The weather here in St. Petersburg has been quiet so far. Some moderate wind and rain but nothing severe yet. Presently there's a large rain band just offshore that most likely contains bad weather. On radar it looks like that band will bypass us.

We're seeing that it came ashore as a Cat. 4, barely. Hope all of y'all in the path are okay, that your homes aren't damaged, and that your power is restored quickly.

looks like the town of perry got it full in the face....very rural area. trees/poles/lines down everywhere :(

shows it made landfall at keaton beach? man, i cant even imagine how that place fared.

We're at our condo on HHI ... waiting, lost power briefly, but back on for now ... watched sad video on TV from lovely Cedar Key FL where we'd spent a wonderful week at the timeshare there a few years ago, shortly after it had reopened from a prior storm with flooding storm surge.

a lot of rain and wind in Virginia
now it's sunny skies

People tell me Virginia has really nice weather.
