This past weekend our family evacuated from Houston to San Antonio from huricaine Ike. We grabed a unit for the weekend using points on last second. thurs/Fri but have to stay through Sunday.

On Friday Hyatt offer "huricaine relief rate" on their excess inventory. I thought that it was very generous for Hyatt to assist in the effort and helping my family getting several rooms (4) at Wild Oak ranch at an deep discount rate (170/night for 2BR) :) Being on the lazy river sure made the evacuation easier.

our home in houston did not suffer any structural damages. My other property in galveston however sustained major damages.

I stayed at the Wild Oak this year. They are very nice people who run that resort. it is a tribute to Hyatt. My wife and I both got very sick while we were there and they went above and beyond anything that could have been expected.
