How warm are the pools at Newport Coast?

Going to be at Newport coast in about a week....looks like highs around 70 for the first few days we will be there. I know the pools are heated. How well? I dont require a warm bath temperature, but dont want to be shivering in the water either. Is one pool warmer than the others? ......On another note...we are not Marriott owners, we exchanged in, what will they offer us to do the tour?

At the main pool complex there are 3 pools, the main pool is a very nice temp the other smaller pools are too cold for me.

At the pool down by the 1000 bldgs, the pool is pleasant.

For doing the tour they will offer you Marriott hotel points but we took the $150 in pre paid credit card for use at Fashion Island (sp?).

Bill...were you there at a time other than summer?

We were there right before Christmas and was able to swim in the main pool. However, it was cold once you come out....

We've been there in late Nov and Dec this past year. So the daytime temp outside was between 60 and 75

That's the week we were there!!

I was at Newport Coast Villas this past November, and I found a slightly different situation at the main pool complex. As has been mentioned, there are three beautiful pools located together behind the registration building.

Of these, the main pool was too cold for me. There were a few people swimming in it...and I tried it...but it was not pleasant. The other two pools are located on a slightly lower (down hill) level. Of these, one was absolutely freezing cold. Virtually no one was in this pool. The other, which is the adult and/or quiet pool, was nicely heated. It's where I spent most of my swimming time. (Don't assume that both of the lower pools are the same temperature. They definitely are not. One was ice cold and the other was well-heated and warm.)

Have fun! NCV is a great resort.

I was at NCV last Memorial Day and the pool was too cold....I went in the big one a few times, but, it was hardly ideal.

does NCV have a great kids pool...I know some marriots have water slides and pirate ships etc....what is NCV kiddie pool like?

I don't think so.

We were there the beginning of February this year and I did not want to go into the pool as it was too cold. It was jacket/sweater weather and too chilly, but some were brave and went into the main pool but not until the temperature got above 70 outside.

You will love the resort!

It's just a typical shallow kids pool at NCV. Nothing fancy. But, the resort is gorgeous.

They do have a playground and a putting green and basketball court. If I had young children, I'd request the building with the playground behind it. I don't know the number, but they will. If you had the 1st floor, they could run outside the back door and run to the nearby playground. I think I remember that correctly.

Pool

We are currently at NCV and the main pool is good for swimming. Kids and adults. The two adult pools are a little cool for are cooler, the sun is shinning you will have a great time. They are putting the furniture in the 4300 to 4700 building at this time, not sure when they are going to start to use these buildings. Outstanding views, a short walk to the main pool area.
