Hello,

We currently have the lockoff portion of our unit booked at the Aruba Surf Club. Is there any way I can upgrade to a 1 bedroom unit?

Thanks.

The time limit is two years from the date of your deposited week. Call II to confirm. This is a hit or miss approach as you can only search for a unit that is the same size of the unit you are depositing. If you get lucky, your search will pull up some larger units as well. But it can work. I've stayed at many Marriott three bedroom villas and always used a smaller villa to trade in.

Good luck,
Charles

I agree with what others have suggested.

Check II frequently. There are lots of 1,2 bdrms deposited. If you find one, do the exchange online. You don't have to deposit your week first in order to search for exchanges.

59 day prior to checkin, II shows all inventory for Marriott's when you search for exchanges.

Remember, you cannot place a request for a larger unit than you deposit with II, but you can decline a unit when it is offered by II if it is not what you are looking for and simply wait for the next trade offer to come along.

The key part of this quote is "place a request for a larger unit" If you online/instant search with your studio and see a 1 bedroom, II will let you have it. You just can't do a pending request for a larger unit. ( unless the requested resort only has larger units)

I wouldn't deposit but rather keep the unit and search online. That way if you don't match, you still have the studio to use, if you do, you have a larger unit for an upgrade fee of $99.
