Thank you. I am not from US. Should I return package also before leaving.

certainly be easier to do while still there yes...just dont get talked into changing your mind (they will try)

I am going to do the rescind by post instead of direct. But part of my payment was cash. Can I instruct them to return all monies paid to my credit card account. Should I advise my credit card company not to honour payments which may be presented and send them contract plus rescind letter.

i wouldnt deliver the rescission in person, just whatever extras they gave you. follow the instructions to the letter.

You should follow the rescission instructions precisely. Send your signed rescission correspondence to the correct address by certified U.S. Mail. Save the counter-issued, date stamped postmark receipt. The correct address to which to mail your rescission correspondence is not the resort address where you just signed the contract; the correct address for your cancellation correspondence is the 2801 Old Winter Garden Road address of "corporate" in Ocoee, FL.

It was unwise to give those parasites cash, but my guess is that they will simply refund your deposit in much the same way that it was paid --- a check mailed to you for the cash portion and a credit back to the charge card in the same amounts as in your deposit. It could take up to 45 days before you see your refund.

Do not go back to the sales weasels in person. Just box up all the materials that you are returning and ship it by the least expensive means possible.
If you go back in person, you'll just be browbeaten and cajoled and / or insulted and maybe "pitched" again --- you don't need or want any of that.

Westgate is "the worst of the worst". Complete your cancellation, run away in the opposite direction and count your blessings that you escaped in time.

Me and my fiance just purchased a westgate timeshare and I'm very uneasy about it and need to get out of it. We just purchased on nov 29th and we are headed back home now where I will be getting this recission letter done and in the mail tomarrow. I need to know though when sending this I will send 1st class. However I tried to call them yesterday to tell them we wanted to cancel and they tried to sweeten the deal by saying they would make out deposited payments lower and was going to work on that paperwork. Can I still send the letter to get out of this. I cant believe we made such a rash decision and need help getting out of it. Also where do I send this letter I have seen a few different addresses and also where and when do I sent the promotional items back to. Please help

Look at Theos post on this thread / Aug 28 2017
TUG has some other threads on rescinding in general / and rescinding Westgate

1)-keep copies of everything / GET A DATED RECEIPT - with some tracking info .
2)-When you send it is the Key timeline - not when they receive it . You both must signthe letter if you are both on the contract .

3)-DO NOT CALL THEM - you are speaking to sales .( I would also suggest blocking future incoming calls )
4)- If you are unsure - RESCIND - the deal including the better offer can be had again if you decide latter it is something you desire .

5)- If you used a credit card for a deposit / notify the card company that you have rescinded and are awaiting a refund .

6) - rescinding is a legal right and they are required to refund you . Westgate IS NOT required to notify you or give further info .
Calling them only leads to further conversations with sales .

7) - Rescinding is like returning products to a retailer - no reason is required to get a refund .( just follow the time line requirement ? and get a dated receipt for proof )
