I am going to do the rescind by post instead of direct. But part of my payment was cash. Can I instruct them to return all monies paid to my credit card account. Should I advise my credit card company not to honour payments which may be presented and send them contract plus rescind letter.
You should follow the rescission instructions
precisely. Send your signed rescission correspondence to the correct address by
certified U.S. Mail. Save the counter-issued, date stamped postmark receipt. The correct address to which to mail your rescission correspondence is
not the resort address where you just signed the contract; the correct address for your cancellation correspondence is the 2801 Old Winter Garden Road address of "corporate" in Ocoee, FL.
It was unwise to give those parasites cash, but my guess is that they will simply refund your deposit in much the same way that it was paid --- a check mailed to you for the cash portion and a credit back to the charge card in the same amounts as in your deposit. It could take up to 45 days before you see your refund.
Do
not go back to the sales weasels in person. Just box up all the materials that you are returning and ship it by the least expensive means possible.
If you go back in person, you'll just be browbeaten and cajoled and / or insulted and maybe "pitched" again --- you don't need or want
any of that.
Westgate is "the worst of the worst". Complete your cancellation, run away in the opposite direction and count your blessings that you escaped in time.
