How to exchange weeks

I have 2 unused weeks due to late closing for this year I can deposit into interval for use until end of 2027. It is two, 2 bed lockouts for Shadow Ridge Palm Desert. I am new to this, how do I deposit them, since I cannot book weeks, into interval to find other resorts to use them at until they expire? Should I leave them whole to trade into Maui?

Talk to me like I am a 3 year old trying this for the first time. Its only 4 of us, with two kids so we can use a 1 bedroom in Maui for my 2 bed deposit. Looking to use in 2027.

I assume this is for 2026 use year? Have you been able to get a reservation with Marriott Vacation Club? If not, you need to call them and do that. Chances are there may not be any availability left to reserve. In that case you need to ask for a supplemental deposit given. No guaranty but they can deposit weeks into your account (they are really just transferring them to your II account). You can either lock off or keep the weeks as a single 2BR.

You should be able to trade 1BR to 1BR for Maui. With the upcoming changes to II, it maybe easier but you may have to pay an upgrade fee.
