Has anyone deposited a Wyndham week with SFX? I know they only accept certain resorts. I'm just wondering about the procedure. Do you call Wyndham or book it direct and give it straight to SFX?

Thanks.

are you wanting to deposit a fixed week or points?

If you deposit a week you acquire with points, you will give the week to SFX and get a guest certificate from Wyndham with the exchanger's name, as soon as SFX finds an exchanger for your deposited week.

This is unlike any other system, making Wyndham the scummiest. I hope you don't have to pay $99 to add the name, but you sure will if you have used the year's allotment of free guest certificates. Most people only have one.

Thanks, Cindy. We still have a couple guest certs but that is good to know. I had a hunch that might be the case.

I have deposited 2 Wyndham weeks with SFX and I don't know how well they trade as I have just started looking for exchange weeks.
With SFX you cannot search on-line. You give them a location and timeframe and they contact you when they have something to match. You then pay $189 whether or not the match is OK with you, therefore you need to pretty flexible in your needs.

I hope someother TUGGER has been successful and can add more info.

Rich,
If they make a match that meets the criteria that you put into your search, then you have already agreed to accept that match. The more precise you are in your request, the harder it will be for them to march it for you because they have less inventory than the big 2. If they have something that is a close match, you will be asked if you want it, but you are not obligated to take it. Some people have been very exact in their request and they have been successful getting exchanges.

I have had very good luck getting what I wanted, but I am flexible. In August I took a vacation to Yellowstone. I had asked for an exchange in Montana. SFX called and said they had an opportunity at Island Park Village Resort in Idaho. I was not forced to take the exchange, but I decided to go for it because it was in August - prime time for a visit to Yellowstone. Some others might not have been as willing to take that resort so they could say no.

Sue, this is OT, but how was IPV? It's been years since we were there, and we just loved the location. But years can do a lot to a resort, and some of it is not necessarily good.

We requested an exact date for our exchange to Kauai from SFX and did get the exchange for that date. I am pleased, but I cannot watch RCI for the same week at Shearwater, or I will go nuts. We are staying at Point at Poipu, so I hope it's a great unit with a good view of something. :D

We go to IPV most years - DH &DS were there for 2 weeks in July. It is well maintained but not fancy. I really enjoyed having the gas firplace. Last time I went was in January and it was great

We hardly spent any time at all at the resort. We had a 1 BR. I liked the living room area. Nice tiled fireplace and I thought the upholstery fabric on the sofa was appropriate for the location. The kitchen was OK. I was surprised at how many baking tools were there. One thing I have never done at a TS is baking.

There was no TV in the master bedroom, which I missed having. Also, no wireless in the rooms. We made a quick trip to the lobby outside of the office to do a quick check on the internet one evening.

The ride to Yellowstone wasn't really too bad because the speed limit is 75 mph, so those 22 miles go quickly. There is a restaurant next to the resort, but we didn't eat there. We had dinner in West Yellowstone each evening and packed a lunch for the park.

We didn't interact with anyone from the resort until checkout. We got there after the office closed on the first day and left each morning before they opened and came home each evening after they closed.

We literally saw hundreds of animals in the park. It was a fantastic vacation.
