How soon before check-in can you do an RCI/II Ongoing Search?

I was trying to set up an RCI ongoing search for early November, and I got an error message. (Not a useful error message, mind you -- just "website not working right; try again later.")

So, I don't know if RCI's website was just being buggy, or if the dates I requested were too close to check-in. Does RCI require a certain number of days before check-in for placing an ongoing search? If so, how many days are required, and are there are "tricks" that allow one to get around that rule? (Like maybe setting up a search for 6 months from now, then changing the dates?)

I don't need to do an ongoing II search now, but I'd be interesting in knowing the same information for II. (How many days advance notice needed for an ongoing search, any tricks for doing last-minute ongoing searches, etc.)

If there is already a thread on this, please refer me there.

Thank you!

Judy

PS -- For those who read my TUG Lounge thread about my health problems, I just posted an update there.

I'm not positive, but it seems like it's 30 days on both. You might try calling in the ongoing search instead.

II is 60 days. No OGS if you are restricted to flex change. I think RCI is 30 but not sure about that one.

With II you may be able to add something to an already established OGS that is less than 59 days but you have to have a deposit or AC capable of confirming 60 days or beyond.

Just tried to set up a search in RCI. Oct 25 was the first date it allowed for the search to begin.

If you have several sets of dates in one search, and the search has been out there a while, you can adjust the start date of one of the dates to be prior to the current start date allowed by RCI.
e.g. Let's say I set up a search a month ago, when the first allowed start date had been Sept 25. I could now change that start date to be Oct 15, which is earlier than the Oct 25 which RCI is allowing today.

I hardly ever do OGS, so I didn't even realize that one can place an OGS with an AC. Thanks!

It depends on the AC. Those that only good toward flex time (like the ones given away when you purchase a getaway) you can't. The ones you get for a deposit, you can. If you check out my units in II there will either be a tab to set up a search or not.
