How often is your timeshare unused?

I have owned at HGVC since 2001 & Wyndham since 2013. I only have points which makes things easier. Although I am pretty good with Hilton, Wyndham is a bit more challenging to master. Hence, I am using this forum as "Timeshares 101".

The only time I wasted points with Hilton was several years ago at Breckenridge. I messed up the dates & got airline tickets 2 days before the end of our week. When I laughingly admitted my mistake to the resort esthetician, she seemed so sympathetic I offered the last 2 days to her. She was so happy, she insisted on a complimentary couples massage!! Worked out great for us both. I realize I could have been on the hook for any damages but she worked there & was very sweet.

I'm still working out the nuances of Wyndham & have worked it out so far.
 
Love2travel123 welcome to TUGBBS. There are a lot of resources here. You will be mastering Wyndham in no time.

I forgot when I posted earlier, I have sometimes had RCI deposits expire, but those were mostly from units where I got free usage when I bought but not enough time to plan properly, so still nothing where it ever cost me real, heavy dollars out of my pocket.
