I loved the location and planned a trip back. It felt a little dated though. Do Marriott properties have established number of years for routine refreshes? How long has it been for Waiohai?

Agree to both posts...

When was the last time it was updated? 2021? Marriott usually keeps a 5-6 year refurbishment cycle.

Both Marriott Waiohai Homeowner Boards had completed their Annual Spring Meetings this week! Of particular discussion was the plan for the upcoming 2026-2027 refurbishment of all villa's at Waiohai. Our intent is to have a sample villa completed and available for viewing just prior to and during our Fall October Owner's Meeting scheduled for October 22nd, 2025. We will also develop a plan to create a post for those that will not be visiting during that time, to ensure everyone has a chance to view and provide their comments and feedback on the proposed changes. Please stay tuned for additional details! Mahalo...Tim Miscovich/Board Member"

Probably will be similar to all the other recent "upgrades" at MVC resorts. Lots of neutral *whites, greys) colors, vinyl plank flooring, etc, etc.

Yeah…as an owner at Waiohai I’m disappointed to hear that it’s our turn to get whacked with the ‘refurb’ stick. I’d much rather have dings on better quality furniture than have to live with what they’ve been putting in recently.
