How Often Does Bluegreen Exercise ROFR on Weeks?

My husband and I bought a week at The Suites at Hershey several years ago as a resale from another TUGGER. For the record, we love this resort/area. Our issue is configuration and the way our extended family grew and now vacations. I want to rehome the week but not quite sure what might happen if the purchase price is $1. This is a deeded week, not Bluegreen points. The underlying week is 27 (4th of July in 2026) and it is considered Platinum Season - weeks19-42, 51-52 and 53. I went on the Facebook page for reselling Bluegreen but, for Hershey, it's all points.

When I spoke to customer service on chat, the rep said "give it away or sell and let other people make memories." Does that imply Bluegreen doesn't usually use ROFR on weeks? I really don't want to "give it back" to Bluegreen and don't want to trigger a ROFR.

Thoughts?

Bluegreen is really inconsistent with ROFR. You will want to ask minimum for whatever the transfer fee, I believe it may be $500, as your selling price because if you say $1 and I will pay the transfer fee and Bluegreen decides to take it they still expect you to pay the $500 and will send you a dollar. Or they may decide to let it past and let you pay the $500 and transfer it to whoever you give/sell it to. I don't think they are hurting for inventory to the point that they are taking the deeded flex weeks but you never know.

Since this is a deeded week BG would likely take it back for free at no cost to you and add it to the trust.

This is not part of the vacation club so BG does not have ROFR - you can sell for $1.

Usually the chat reps are good but call the exit number listed in the BG exit thread here for accurate give back info.

I have not checked Redweek for this resort but there is a possibility you could sell this for a small amount. Or give it away on TUG. Possibly look at Facebook for an owners group at this resort and list it there.
You can also list it on the BG points Facebook group but likely get a taker here or Redweek faster.

I sold my 9 BG point contracts between December 2023 & January 2025 and BG took back 7 out of 9.
