I am at MVC pulse San Francisco. I attended a TS present in early November. I also did a retail purchase to enroll legacy weeks in August .

The sales rep initially signed me up for a virtual presentation but the next day they declined saying since I just bought I would not be Eligible.

P.S I am aiming for the gift at the end of the presentation and have no intention of doing another purchase

My understanding is that the rule used to be one year between sales presentations, with the exception that you could do one within 6 months for a sales presentation at a Hawaiin resort. When Covid hit, and with the impending roll-out of Abound, the rule seemed to go away. I've done 4 to 6 presentations in each of 2021 and 2022. I even did a physical presentation in Boston after having attended a virtual presentation the week before.

There is a difference in time between presentations and time between buying and your next presentation. We have done presentations just a few days apart. never bought though but I have seen other people mention such a restriction as you did about the time between purchase and your next presentation.

I think the biggest gift you could give yourself is to not attend a presentation.

I don't know about you, but the value of our time is far greater than any "gift" that Marriott Vacation Club could give us.

My time is valuable but no one is paying me while I’m on vacation. We usually go early morning while the kids are still sleeping. We’d just be laying in bed.

I attended a Road Show presentation in October.
Invited to attend again last week in Newport Beach.

The zoom presentations to us at home have been easier.

I'm thinking it's normally 6 months from when a week hit's you account for sales and the standard is 90 days otherwise. However, I've seen lot's of exceptions on the 90 days down to less than a week more than once.

It may also vary by state. We have done a presentation in California, then a week later went to a resort in Arizona and they said that since we hadn't toured in Arizona in the past x months, we were free to do another presentation. This was great when Marriott and Vistana still had separate sales systems. We were able to do four presentations between Palm Desert and Phoenix/Scottsdale in the span of a few weeks.

Marketing will find ways to get you through the floor if they can. That is how they get paid.

At one time we were told 6 months apart, but that doesn’t appear to be the truth. I once attempted to use the fact we’d just been to a presentation a couple of months before and were told it was no problem. This seems to be a lot like the varying offers from resort to resort or owner to owner when it comes to what you’re offered for attending.

I think it depends on how willing the local team is to spend the marketing cash to get you in the door to take a swing at you. I’m sure they are given recommended guidelines, but I believe it’s up to each location to make the invite/don’t invite decision.

Our personal concierge at Westin Laguanmar told us last month that we she could only schedule us for an owner's update if we had hadn't one in the last 9 months.

We attended a presentation in Fort Lauderdale in early December and signed up for the Encore program for 2023 at Ocean Pointe. Then we checked into Ocean Pointe for a week. I went to the concierge to pick up a list of local restaurants offering discounts and the concierge told me that we didn't show up on her computer. A week later we checked into Oceana Palms for a week. The concierge there had us on her computer system but said that she couldn't ask us to attend a presentation because we had just gone to one in Fort Lauderdale.

I spoke to the concierge desk.. she said once you buy retail you are not allowed to do presentations for 6 months ! Otherwise you can technically do a presentation in different locations every other day apparently and they don't care

We have been denied a presentation at one resort because we had recently just taken one at a different one. Both resorts were in Orlando and different sales centers.

We did a presentation in Maui. The following week we went to Ko Olina and were solicited for another presentation. We were told since it was 2 different islands we could do them back to back. That was crazy, and we said no. There was a time that the suggestion was no more than 1 presentation every six months. but I suppose that's subject to lots of exceptions and may not apply anymore

Done 2-6 months frequently over the years.

I did an owner update on Maui and three days later they were asking me to do another one on the Big Island at the Marriott Waikaloa. I think unless you've just bought, they are happy to get another try to sell you.

I’m sure it depends on your ownership profile and habits. I’m sure they profile. If they feel you are likely to buy then you’ll get invited regardless of time since last presentation.

Question? How do you folks as fluent in the MVC dialect go to a presentation and let the sales staff speak in a different tongue and flat out lie without getting confrontational?
