I just realized I wasted a better part of the day on the computer.
I would like to take a poll.
On average, how many hours a day do YOU spend on the computer (not counting work hours) ??

Probably 1.5 hour a day and most of it on TUG or other vacation topic boards!

Sue

I typically spend about 4 hours a day. I am retired so it all for fun. I belong to several different forums. I do a lot of on-line financial stuff and shopping.

1.5 hours every morning while having coffee and longer on weekends when there's more time available.

One to two hours a day as an average; I am retired and spend quite a bit of time planning vacations.

I don't get on everyday, but when I am planning a vacation, it can be an entire day. It's amazing how time flies!

Uh-oh. Confession is good for the soul. Work days, none during work hours, but probably 3-4 in the evening. Weekends, off and on, probably 5- or so. But to mitigate the sentence, your honor, though the computer is on and easily at hand, I'm doing other stuff too. Like watching TV, cooking, doing the laundry, planning trips.

Too many  Since I am the early bird in our house I like to have my coffee while I am on the computer in the morning. I have an office built next to our living room, in what was the informal dining room so when there is down time during the day and the rest of the family is watching a television show I am usually on my computer then as well. I can surf the net and still feel like I am part of the family. Because of where the computer is located in my home it also works well for the kids becuase they are always in public view. Funny how they don't think I can see the minimized tabs that say MySpace or something else when they should be doing their homework.

Oh, probably 10 hours a day or more.

The last month or so I've been on a crazy schedule at work, working 60-70 hours per week. So for that time, probably 12-14 hours per day.

Oh yeah, forgot to say, I do this for a living! :D

1 productive hour and about 4-5 non productive hours mostly surfing for info, tug, and exchanging.

Probably 2-3 hours a day, more on the weekends (when it's the first thing I do in the morning). A lot of time is spent on TUG, Freecycle, and e-mail, but I also shop, look up info., and pay bills and such. (I also have an addiction to Freecell & Bookworm.)

My laptop is on a small cart that sits in the living room. I'm not much of a TV watcher, so while Hubby is watching TV in the evenings, I'm usually on the computer (or reading). It's nice because we are still in the same room and have conversations while we are each doing our own thing.

Also, like Jim, it is always on and always connected to the internet, so I do other things off-and-on.

Hubby thinks I'm crazy because I won't travel without it and hate to stay anywhere that doesn't have wireless right in the room.

more time than I spend off of it unfortunately.

Computers are my business so I'm at a keyboard at least 8 hours a day - usually more. Too much I suppose but thats the way it is.

too much I guess, probably 5 hours a night unless on vacation! Lot of time spent on timeshare forums, bill paying, exchange companies, online shopping, etc. Boy I better get a life!!

Oh boy, way too long. 3 hours a day? More if I'm doing something for work. I'm on and off constantly. What's really funny is when DH and DD and DS and I are all on at once....we have lots of computers. Now multiply the hours times using computers since 1974 (really!), having my first PC in 1983, first Mac January 1984.......how many years of my life?

And now, for the first time, I'm bringing an laptop on vacation. I've always refused to do that, but I do have a project for work that I might need to do some work on.....and it'll save me from having to go to the resort's computers for email. excuses, excuses.

And my son and I just walked over to the Fifth Avenue Apple Store tonight - cool place!

I just can't stay away.
:p

About 1.5 to 2 hours per day. I do not spend as much time as I used to. I check emails, TUG, Timeshareforums, and TTOL once or twice a day. And, if I have a trip in mind, I will look into that.

When TUG first began (or when I first discovered TUG back in the late 80s/early 90s), I think I was on here all day (while at work):hysterical: .

You might want to check the OP again -- "not counting work hours".

Sounds like you barely have any time outside of work to spend on the computer! :D

Too many

So many that DH threatened to divorce me!

There was an ad on TV where some kids declared they had come to the end of the internet. That's my goal!!!!!!!!!!

Work days I jump up and sneak downstairs to drink my coffee and go online before the kids get up. I'd say I'm on an hour. I'd say at least another hour after work.

Weekends - gads - could be hours. I love TUG, my email, and playing cards on line.

Probably between 1-2 hours a night. More if I'm in "research a vacation" mode. Every night I read TUG, Cruise Critic, and maybe skim DIS boards. Then maybe bill pay or shop a bit.

4-5 hours...

sorry for the duplicate post

Hmmmm, the Internet has replaced our TV. We don't even have TV's in the house but we have 4 laptops and two desktops for two people.
It does tick me off when DH emails me from his chair 3 feet away from my chair.
I guess people that don't spend a lot of time on the Internet don't have time to post on this thread:rofl:

1/2 and1/2

Unless I'm looking for something special such as a flight, rental car, or resort I'm on for 1/2 hour in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon. No special reason, it just seems to work out that way.
