OK, I'm starting this thread due to o don't understand what to do in a situation where I need at least one ARP per year. I have 500,000 points and am permanent gold temp platinum.
It was suggested to pool all point, or I am interpreting this wrong. I understand that not all resorts need ARP, availability
Good at 10 months.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
You should credit pool everything except the number of points you plan to use ARP with.

If you need one ARP per year, pool all of your points other than what you need.

For example, if you know you need a 2 bedroom unit in prime season that's going to run you 230,000 points, pool the other 270,000.

If you're making the ARP reservation 12 to 13 months out, you should be able to pool the remaining points before your UY starts (there would be a couple exceptions of making the reservation closer to the 10 month window for a November or December check in).

This may be a dumb question, but I have 1 contract. When you pool, do the pool points show up as separate transactions so you know your using the oldest first?

When you pool the points they show up as a separate line in your points status.

UY does not come into play till 6 months into use year, as gold. I do have then to credit pool. I see why it makes sense now. Guess best course is to credit pool then.

The Gold extension of 6 months to pool is, well, gold! You will have already blown through any ARP possibilities well before your pool deadline. So really, make all your ARP bookings and then pool the rest. Personally I would wait until a few days before your UY+6mo date to pool if you didn't need to pool to bring points forward.
