How much is 1600 RCI points worth?

Hello, experienced Tuggers,

My friend has used her 3200 points and rented to a 2-bedroom condo in a resort to share with me. I would like to pay her for her points used for my share of the condo. How much is 1600 RCI points worth? Any booking fees? I would appreciate it if you would let me know.

Every timeshare resort is going to have a different maintenance fee and a different cost per RCI point.

3,200 points seems extremely low for a 2 bedroom. What resort are you going to? Are you sure this is the total?

At my resort, 1600 points is like $16. But it may be more for your friend. The RCI exchange fee is about $300 total.

As for how to split the cost with your friend, I would just ask. Be generous and offer to pay more or buy dinner if they low-ball you.

Remember while the cost of the points and the exchange fee may seem cheap now, your friend may have spent thousands to acquire the timeshare in the first place.

Hard to tell what these points are worth without knowing the system. My RCI points cost come in at 1 cent per point, but it takes 30,000 to 60,000 points for a week in a 2 bedroom depending on season and location. This is obviously a different point system your friend has.

Perhaps insist on buying the groceries or rental car or etc. Generosity begets generosity. A positive, rather than vicious, circle.

Some timeshare owners may have membership levels to lower it a bit more, perhaps? Or there was an RCI sale at some point?

I can say I see some nice 1BRs in Las Vegas for 4,700 points for a week.

I think it's likely these aren't "rci points" at all, but rather Hilton (hgvc or hvc) points used to make a booking via RCI. 3200 in that case would fit with the points chart for Hilton bookings via rci.

Thank you for all your replies. Resort is in Sedona Pines, Arizona. Yes, I plan to pay for the booking fee and the rental car. It says reservation type: Exchange. Maybe not RCI points? It is for 6 nights. 2 bedroom 2 baths condo.
