There are reports now that Sean Penn visited him in his Jungle hideout. Sean Penn should be prosecuted for this as well.

What crime would he be prosecuted for?

El Chapo: 'They are Turning Me Into a Zombie' - by Catherine E. Shoichet/ Americas/ CNN/ cnn.com

"(CNN)Now that he's back in a maximum-security prison, notorious Sinaloa cartel boss Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman isn't happy about life behind bars, according to his attorney.

In an interview with Mexico's Radio Formula on Tuesday, Guzman's lawyer said the drug kingpin feels that he is a victim of "physical and mental torture" because guards wake him up so often.

"He told me, literally, 'Every two hours, at night, they wake me up to take roll. ... They are turning me into a zombie. They do not let me sleep. All I want is just for them to let me sleep,' " attorney Juan Pablo Badillo said..."

Twice-Escaped 'El Chapo' Guzman Says He'll Do Time in U.S. -- As Long as Its in Medium Security - by Cecilia Sanchez/ Reporting from Mexico City/ World/ Mexico & the Americas/ Los Angeles Times/ latimes.com

"Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is willing to accept extradition and plead guilty to charges in a United States court if he can negotiate an “unelevated” prison sentence in a medium security prison, his lawyer has told reporters here.

In an interview Thursday with Radio Formula of Mexico City, Guzman’s attorney, Jose Refugio Rodriguez, said that his client had decided to try to negotiate such a course of action because of what he described as poor treatment in the Altiplano prison where he is being held.

Prison guards are waking Guzman every four hours to verify that he hasn’t escaped, according to Rodriguez. The resulting stress and sleeplessness has caused the drug lord to suffer severe headaches, he added.

“Tell me what person could tolerate not sleeping,” he said.

Rodriguez said he had contacted an American attorney named William Stuttgart about negotiating terms of the extradition with U.S. authorities..."

Mexican Drug Lord 'El Chapo' Wants to be Extradited to the U.S., Says Lawyer - by E. Eduardo Castillo/ AP/ World/ Mexico/ Time/ time.com

"(MEXICO CITY) — Drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is willing to plead guilty to any charges in the United States if U.S. authorities promise him a short sentence in a medium-security prison, one of his lawyers said Wednesday.

Guzman wants to accelerate the extradition process so he can escape harsh conditions in a Mexican maximum-security prison, where guards will not let his client sleep, lawyer Jose Refugio Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said that he and Guzman’s family are reviewing options for a U.S. defense attorney.

“We have talked about a proposal … to plead guilty to the charges in the United States without questioning their veracity,” said Rodriguez, who heads Guzman’s legal team.

“That in exchange for a reduction in the applicable sentence like others have done in these situations, but also look for a medium-security prison so that he’s not in the conditions that he has here,” he said, calling the decision “an act of desperation” because Guzman had “reached his limit.”

But talk of a possible deal is very premature and shows a lack of understanding of the U.S. judicial process, said David Weinstein, a former federal prosecutor who oversaw the narcotics division at the U.S. attorney’s office in Miami.

Weinstein noted that neither the Justice nor the State departments negotiate with fugitives or other wanted people who are not on U.S. soil, so any discussions could take place only following extradition. Even if Guzman were to cooperate with U.S. prosecutors, a judge would have the final say on sentencing while prison authorities would decide where he does his time..."
