We'll be visiting Incline Village in June and are thinking about taking a side trip to Yosemite. How long of a trip would this be? If we stayed over a night or two in Yosemite, any recommendations on where to stay?

I've never driven that route, but mapquest says 4+ hrs which sounds about right. Most of the places to stay in the park book up a year in advance (or whenever reservations open up) for the summer.

There are lots of hotels/motels just outside the park. We stayed at Yosemite View Lodge once and it was very nice and fairly reasonably priced.

You'll need to stay overnight

Yosemite gets very crowded by noon in the summer. By the time you got there parking would be impossible and the park may even be full and they won't let you inside. The number of cars allowed in the park is restricted so the only way you could gain entrance on a crowded day would be if you have a reservation to camp or at one of the lodgings. Yosemite Lodge is in the valley and close to many of the main trails for viewing the falls. Keep in mind that Tioga Pass from hwy 395 would NOT be open yet so you would have to enter from the western side. It's a long drive to complete in one day & allow time for seeing very much of Yosemite.

You might consider adding a couple of days/nights at Yosemite before or after your week at Tahoe if you can, to have more leisurely Yosemite time and not miss Tahoe time - that's what we did. Our trip was late May, Memorial Day weekend, Glacier Point had just opened up so even though Tioga Pass was closed, it was a very worthwhile trip. We also liked Yosemite View Lodge, their creek-front restaurant was pretty good (better than our experience inside the park), and we enjoyed the outdoor seating.
