How Long Does it Take for Marriott to Deposit Reward Points after Presentation

I went to a presentation during my recent stay at the Marriott Lakeshore Reserve. My choice of gift was 20,000 Marriott Rewards points. I was told after the presentation that it take between 4 to 6 weeks for the points to show up in my Marriott Rewards account. Is this true. To me it doesn't seem like it should take that long.

I agree.

We did a presentation in late December, and our payment was $75 toward our maintenance fee. We just found out last week that it still hasn't been paid to our account and are trying to get it taken care of. Fortunately we kept the receipt or, based on the discussions with the MVCI agents it would probably be a major hassle.

It seems to me that Marriott has some antiquated IT systems.

I did a tour at Custom House and waited for almost 3 months for my rewards points. They did not automatically appear in my account. :annoyed:

I had to write quite a few nasty emails and phone calls before they finally decided that they were going to give me what was promised. It was a very unpleasant experience and I was very shocked that Marriott was so lax on fulfilling their promise of the rewards points given that I had always had positive experiences with Marriott hotels before that. Now I won't do any more Marriott tours after that experience.

We sat through a presentation at Ko Olina on Feb. 1st and the points were posted on the 10th.

We went to a presentation at Grand Chateau in December and the 20,000 points showed up rather quickly, probably less than a week. So it is possible for the resort to get them submitted pretty rapidly.

Our points form tours have always been posted promptly, normally with a week or two.

My experience is varying times - I forget it was either Timber Lodge or Newport, but once our points probably showed up within 5 days or so. We were on our 2nd week of vacation at the time the points (taken during our 1st week on vacation)!

We have had similar experiences. The points usually post within a week or so.

My experience is 3-21 days. (Sometimes posting while we are still at the resort for the week!)

Virtually a ditto with the Custom House experience. Ultimately had to get a MVCI customer service rep involved to get things moving.

We went to a presentation the first week of Oct 2011 at the Surf Club while in Aruba. It wasn't until this past January 16th that the reward points were credited to my account.
