How long do you keep your Elite Status

I reached Plat status Dec 10 2010, does it expire Dec 31 2011 unless i have 75 nights or is it good for the 2012 year

It is good through the end of the year following when you earned it. So in your case, it is good through December 2011. Well... really you will keep plat until sometime in to 2012, usually through February, then if you didn't earn enough nights you will drop to gold.

It is good through February 29, 2012. All elite status expire at the end of February.

I know Marriott is allowing extra carryover nights from 2011 to go into 2012. Does anyone know if Marriott will allow this again for next year (2012 carried into 2013) ?

We have Plat. Status this year 2011 but will end the year without enough nights to maintain Plat. We have 2 timeshare stays in Jan. 2012 which will give us 75 nights if added to 2011 nights. Does that mean we can retain Plat. Status or do the 2 timeshare stays go toward 2012 year?

Those nights will count toward 2012 status.

Elite status is earned during the calendar year but your current status always expires at the end of February. I think that gives Marriott time to make sure all of your last calendar years stays post before they issue your new elite cards, etc.
