How likely is this?? RED studio/Orlando

I wish to go on a Florida vacation in late August, and the option that I am contemplating is depositing enough points into RCI to get a red studio. How likely is the chance of getting a match for an August week in Oralndo 2bd with this caliber week? I know that I can do a search first, but I would imagine I would increase my chances if I left the search going. Am I just throwing this away?? How likely is it that something might match? Any insight??

I have a 28K deposit of FF points in RCI Weeks (January FF Branson is what they gave me), and here's what I can see with it right now. Of course, if you do an on-going search, you'll get a lot more offers I imagine. School starts for most kids around mid to late august, so Orlando's easier to get then than it is earlier in summer. Plus, it's HOT in late August. I'm guessing you'll get anything you want. I'd be very choosy, and enter the search for only the resorts you most want.

The chances are excellent.

By late August, kids are back in school and Disney is very slow. Our nephew and niece deposited a studio and received a two-bedroom Vistana for the end of this month. They made the exchange six months ago and were surprised at the availability for Orlando. Being an experienced Orlando traveler, I was not at all surprised.

I just looked at Orlando with my very weak
trade one bedroom and saw lots online.
I think you can get something really good.
Orlando is so overbuilt that there is usually
a lot of availability. I think you'll have good luck.
Only take 5* or Gold Crown as there are a
few not-so-good motel-like ones there too,
but lots of gorgeous ones too. Good Luck!

I've done well using weeks not points for the last 2 weeks of August - but used a blue and a white week and had many choices including OLCC and Vistana. I too think you should be fine -- WDW was empty, just people from the UK and NY/NJ/PA states were there - just about everyone else was back in school.

Were you able to do a Search first option?? I looked with a blue studio this morning and had two choices for one date. I am curious if I should do a search first with a bigger deposit or leave the blue studio in for a while with a visible deposit.

If you want the best possible resort, enter an on-going search. I wouldn't worry about putting in a bigger deposit, anything should get what you want.
