I know this must have been stated a million times on TUG, but the logistics of searching for the answer prevents me from finding it. Can someone tell me how long prior to your week is the minimum amount of time that you can give the week to Marriott in exchange for hotel points? The answer doesn't appear to be in the "sticky", which has great info like this.

For your 2009 week, no matter when it is, you must make the decision and call Marriott by December 31, 2008.

Confirming, from the FAQs at the MVCI owners' site:
When can I declare my option to trade my week for Marriott Rewards® points?

Please be sure to place your request by December 31 the year prior to the ownership week you’re trading. For example, let us know by December 31, 2007 if you want to trade your 2008 vacation week for points.

Appreciated, Dave.
I find that an odd policy, in that if you had a January week, you could deposit 2 weeks prior to occupancy, whereas if you had a December week, you would have to make the call nearly immediately after securing the week, almost a year in advance.

I should add that if you haven't yet made a reservation for your 2009 week, the cost to trade for points will be the normal $104 for doing that. However, if you have already reserved a week, the cost to trade for points will be that same $104 plus the $29 reservation cancellation fee.
