How do you keep your timeshare life organized?

Back when I owned 6 Weeks I had all the information on each on a 3x5 card. Any other information I wanted to review (car rentals, air travel, etx.) I also put on a 3x5 card. I always made sure the most current thing (or the thing I was most interested in tracking) was on the card at the top of the pile. When I sold or lost interest in something I threw its card away. I'dshuffle through the cards every week or so. This system worked for me for years...

Own three timeshares. One I always use every year from Mar to mid April. One I only use for the amenities and mostly break even on fees vs income so it’s more or less free. The third I use as I feel like it.

So basically, I have zero need to keep track of anything. If I did, it would be a PITA so I don't:)

Cheers

Although I have 5 weeks, I only own HGVC so I just use the online account to manage all reservations, points, etc. For scheduling and planning the actual vacations (flights, rental cars, etc.), we keep everything in Outlook with a sync to Google Calendar so it is easily accessible on our phones. Quite simple, and has been working for us for years.

I enter the dates f our owned weeks into my google calendar. When I book something, google pulls that info out of my email and enters it into my calendar. If somehow that fails to happen, I manually enter it.

Otherwise I keep track in my head. I know what I paid for each timeshare, and I can look at ongoing ownership costs online. I never have any SBP deadlines (always prepay MF and trade it early), I know approximately all my deadlines in Hyatt and can look online to find exact dates, I have DVC down pat (and try to always stay in a borrowed state, which helps). I make some Marriott mistakes, I’ll admit. I’m just not as up on that system. This year I was off one day on my booking deadline for Barony Beach. And I missed a DC points banking deadline. But I’m learning from my mistakes, they made a big impression!

But I can rent 3325 destination points -- enough for a week in a 1bd OF unit off season, which is when we visit -- for about $2,100 (@$0.64), without being required to visit exactly once a year for exactly seven days starting on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The reason we sold the unit this year was because we had too many weeks, but the reason we sold this unit rather than one of the others was that our ownership was economically inefficient compared to our other ownerships.

Don't you lose the ability to rent Destination Points once you sell you Marriott Property and don't have an account?

One does. But I own another enrolled week, so it's not an issue for me.

But even if I did not, my understanding is that many people who rent points (see www.vacationpointexchange.com) will make a points reservation and put it in your name, rather than transferring the points. Costs vary.
