I had a trade into a resort in November that at the semi-last minute I wasn't able to use. I retraded it into the future three times hoping that I would be able to use what I could find...but am now left with a trade that I won't be able to use and I'm out of free retrades.

Is there a way to simply cancel the reservation in II (I couldn't find it)? Or do I just have to reach out to the resort directly and tell them I'm not going to use the ressie? TIA.

You can only cancel by calling II. You can't do it online. When is the checkin for your exchange?

If check in is more than 59 days from today, you will get a cancellation replacement week that will ahve an expiration date of one year from the date you cancel.

If check in is 59 days or less from today, you will get a cancellation replacement deposit that will have an expiration date of one year from the date you cancel. However, your cancellation replacement deposit will be Flexchange restricted and will only be able to trade into other weeks where check in is 59 days or less from the date you confirm the exchange.

You will need to pay an additional exchange fee when confirming a new exchange.

Thank you! And next week (I've been in Flexchange from the beginning as the first cancellation was semi-last minute).

Is the current exchange from what was already a cancellation replacement? If so, they may not be willing to give you another cancellation replacement.

It wasn't...but I did call in and they were unable to give me a cancellation replacement week since it's 6 days from check-in (and needs to be more than 7). Ah well.

Can you do a retrade with it by paying a new exchange fee? You could possibly push it out 59 days from the current date and then call to cancel.

But then you have to decide if it is worth to pay 2 more full exchange fees to use a replacement week in flexchange that you couldn't use the first time. If you have specific plan for it and/or don't have any future deposits coming in, it might be worth it. A retrade in flex is only going to be 30 or 59 days out from the today. It won't get you out of flex.

If you have any friends or family who could use it you could use a guest cert and let them enjoy it or just let it go unused.

Yeah, that's a good point. You need to consider the added costs of the exchange fees. My issue is that I tend to not think of that since we most often exchange Marriott to Marriott with an enrolled week and have $0 exchange fees.
