How do last minute reservations work at HCC?

I am a little confused as to how the last minute reservations work with the private membership. How far out can you make the reservation and for how long?

Thanks

Every Monday a list comes out (emailed to the members) of destinations that are still available for that week. You can book them for a minimum of two days, starting on any day of the week that they are available. If you have already used up all your days for the year as a full member (45), you can still book these (hence, virtually unlimited use). If you have not used up all your 45 days, you need to use these days first before they become "free".

Members don't have to wait for the e-mail from HCC. We can see the available dates on a real-time basis on the member reservation system.

Kag -

A couple of points ot remember on last min res. Given the days that are available you can book your arrival for any night so long as you have a min of two in a row. Historically last min res' have been anywhere from 2-7 nghts so anything is possible. If you were in a hurry to get into a unit the next day, the only limitation would be how you would get into the unit in terms of keys. Yes, most of them I have stayed at have lockboxes but this may not necessarily work. I am sure they have some work-arounds for the specific units. Beaver Creek-Village Hall comes to mind as an issue if you wanted in ASAP (like the day of). You need a magnetic key to get in the parking garage and a key to access the private elevator. Without either I'm not sure how you would even get to the unit in terms of parking legally and walking a considerable distance.

how far out can you book? 7 days? on thursday the 1st book thursday the 8th?

Kag - The reality is that these are advance reservations with a twist for private members....able to book beyond 45 days. So, how far you can book out under the guise of last minute reservations? It depends on what days are available and what HCC is trying ot get booked/used. I have not seen much beyond the second Fri/Sat following the release of the email notifying what is available unless it is slow fall/spring times. Anything beyond what is specified in the email would fall under the advance reservation. So basically, ten days out is the max. The only difference between the advance and last minute is the minimum number of nights to book...2 vs 4. Hope this helps...
