How do I save newly purchased 2015 Points

We are in the process of purchasing resale Wyndham Points. We are brand new timeshare owners. We were told by the closing company it is possible our deeds could be recorded by 10/30/2015. The deeds will be submitted to Wyndham, the developer has to make transfer in their systems, which could take 4-8 weeks. Hence my question, what should we do to insure the 2015 points don't expire ?

Only thing I can think of, can you have the seller book somewhere, what ever is available, if you can't sorry, I don't know of another way. Unless your buying platinum, then HE, could credit pool them. But you would probably be buying less than that I assume?

Not really anything you can do. If they do happen to arrive before the end of the year, you could check to see if there's anything to use them for. But most likely you will only be able to deposit to RCI.

You can't set up an Acct. until you have a timeshare.

I was in the same situation not to long ago buying a resale contract which had points that would expire by the end of the year. It was a use or lose situation.

I called the Wyndham timeshare owners number and had them acknowledge receipt of the deed in their system. I had the VC supervisor put notes in the computer regarding the points. They told me they could expedite processing my account - so I would not lose the points. I called them evey few days to get my update status. My account was updated within 2 -3 weeks. I received all the points! It was a great holiday treat!

Make sure to ask them to send you your Wyndham member ID cards, and a Club Wyndham Plus Member's Directory.

You may be able to use your points for a Wyndham reservation. Especially if you are not too picky, are somewhat flexible, or if you get lucky searching for last minute cancellations. People cancel bookings all the time, - so search regularly.

Additiinally, make sure they setup your RCI account (through Club Wyndham), so you can put your points over there if you need to. Your can deposit and save the points or use them to book something (if you can)? Once points are placed in RCI, they are good for 2 years. You'll need to pay the required exchange fee to book a vacation. The fee is currently $209 for online exchanges.

You need to become acquainted with the Member Directory. It's here http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/wyndham/plus_membersdirectory1415/ and the VIP discussion begins around page 344.

No, resale points will never qualify for VIP perks, but currently, resale points share an account's VIP status if the account holds other VIP retail points.

VIP is a 3 level incentive for retail purchases. It is not contracted, so Wyndham can and does make periodic changes to it. In our case, we won't live long enough to recoup the extra money retail VIP cost compared to resale.

same deal here. Using some points for a midweek stay in New Orleans and others for an overnight stay in Destin on our way to Bonnet Creek. 9,000 points will just expire.....

New Directory

We are still waiting for Wyndham to set up my account from resale purchases. I was able to use points for a stay in New Orleans with a guest reservation. Have arranged for the remaining points to be banked. My question, is there a new Wyndham Directory out for 2016 ?

That is true. I believe the exchange rate is 1000 Wyndham points is 400 Wyndham Rewards point. It costs 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points to stay 1 night in a hotel. In order to get to 15,000 Wyndham Reward points you would have to exchange 37,500 Wyndham points. Don't think it's worth it unless you really have nothing else you can do with them.

Yes. $99.00

The exchange rate is not that great. It takes 15,000 Wyndham reward points to get one night in any Wyndham hotel, whether it is a Super 8 that would cost $60.00 per night or a Wyndham Grand Hotel that costs $260.00 per night. To exchange Wyndham points for 15,000 Wyndham Reward points would cost 37,500 points plus $99.00. At $6 per thousand 37,500 points are worth $225.00. Not too worth it if you're staying in a super 8. Might be worth it if you are staying in a Wyndham Grand Hotel. Especially if you are spending more than a few nights.
