I am not ebay savy, have no experience and am not sure how to create a sales type auction ad. I am desperate to give my timeshare away and want to try ebay. My give away post here on TUG has not brought any takers.

I am desperately looking for advice, tutorials or anything that will help me set up an auction to give my timeshare away.

A very sincere thank you in advance for any advice or help.

Its an auction...set it so the opening bid is $.01, and offer to pay closing costs, transfer fees and next years maintenance fees

Sounds good, thanks. Now how do I get all the info necessary including resort pictures to display and actually set up the ebay auction ad that will catch a taker's attention?

I believe that once you set up your ebay seller account, it will walk you through how to place your ad.

The fees are high on ebay and you will have a lot of competition - why not give it away on TUG for free? (No cost to you.)

How can I give my timeshare away on TUG - http://tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132509

Denise, I would love to give it away on TUG but already tried that with no success. I will now try ebay if I can figure out how to set up a good auction page. I am willing to pay the fees to get the job done.

Ebay tutorial - http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/howtosell/sellingbasics.html

You can search the internet for pictures with google.

eBay is flooded with free timeshares - have you looked to see how much competion your will have? That would be the first step.

If there are already free timeshares offered at your resort, and they aren't selling, then I would not spend the money for the auction.

Make sure to write "Free Closing" or "No Closing Costs" in the title or sub-title of the auction to get interest.

You might have better success

If you split them up. The week 29 would more than likely find a taker at just you paying the closing and transfer. The week 16, I would guess you will need to pay that plus the 2012 fees in order to get a taker. At least that would be what I would expect to do, Greg

Thanks Greg, I think it you have a good idea to pay the closing, transfer and 2012 fees for wk 16 but hope just to pay the closing and let the taker pay transfer transfer fee for wk 29.

I think if you place a new bargain listing

For each of these with your terms spelled out I am sure that you will find a couple of takers, Greg

Thanks for all the advice.

Thanks Greg, I figured out how to put up my ebay auction and spent many hours last night getting it up and running. :crash:
I am starting with one auction (wk16), after that is gone I will work on the other one. I will try a new bargains ad with the terms spelled out too.

I am hopeful. :)

Much appreciation to all the advice and encouragement given here.
