Because of a glitch in my SVN account I was unable to book online last evening.

I called this morning and made a 4 day Resie in a 2BR at Harborside

After hanging up, I decided to make a second reservation in a one bedroom premium for the same 4 day period.

Both Resies started on a Saturday, the one bedroom Resie has a $30 housekeeping fee. And the 2BR does not.

Anyone know why?

Housekeeping fees are due when the number of reservations you have made in a given use year exceeds the number of units you own. Therefore, if you own a 2-bedroom lockoff, you have 2 housekeeping "credits" and will be charged housekeeping fees for your 3rd reservation of the year and beyond.

In this case, it worked out in your favor because the housekeeping fee is more expensive on a 2-bedroom unit, so if you had booked them in reverse you would have paid a larger fee.

In SVN, I have a 1BR WSJ and a 2BR Dedicated SVV, non SVN is the Coral Vista 2BR in the lower season.
I have the 1BR Wsj reserved and the Coral Vista 2 BR.
The 2BR Harborside would be Resie three and the 1 BR Resie four for 2016.

I plan on canceling one of the two Harborside units depending on my travel party size....so would that eliminate the $30 fee if that is the Resie I decide to keep?

TIA, this is my first time with StarOptions Resies.

Since you have the WSJ 1br and Coral Vista reserved, that leaves you with just 1 housekeeping "credit" from your SVV dedicated 2br. So the calculation does seem correct. If you cancel one of your Harborside reservations, you do not have to pay a housekeeping fee on the remaining one. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't occur automatically if you end up canceling the 2br one. No doubt the reservations reps can help get it taken care of though.

Also - if you use banked Staroptions it can generate a house keeping charge, once you reach a certain number of reservations.

*This is quite the rip off by Starwood, because you didn't use your house keeping credits the previous year, and now they are charging you for them when you roll the Staroptions over to the next two years.

*Shades of Wyndham*
They never met a fee they didn't like!

Thanks okie and Denise for the info.

I wonder what will happen when I use my CV Home Options for several short Resies??? That is the point of the Flex Ownerships, no???

I would bet that they will charge house keeping fees for short stays, once you exceed the number of weeks you own. Please let us know.

That's the thing with the points, they sell you a number that coincides with a weeks usage at CV, but with the Sheraton Flex, they are selling you blocks of points not related to any weeks usage.

Maybe a Flex Owner will chime in....
I have to call customer service tomorrow, will ask about my CV ownership and fees.

I get incorrect info from the entry level people at Owner Services constantly. When you have a question, I think it's best to use the message function and make them put it in writing. When you call, I think that many times they don't bother to research a question - they just say the first thing that pops into their heads.
