I am on my way to Missouri, which means I am in the midst of the four nights a year that I stay in hotels. (Two nights going...two nights coming home.) Stopped tonight in a suburb of Columbus, OH. I usually stay at Residence Inns/Homewood Suites...something with a kitchen. But tonight, the Residence Inn here was crazy expensive. I decided to check out Drury Inn. When I checked in, the lady at the desk tried to give me drink coupons. I thanked her and told her that I don't drink, so I wouldn't need the coupons. "Well...that's okay! Don't forget to join us for supper at 5:30!" WHAT? SUPPER? Sure enough, at 5:30 sharp, the lights in the food service area came on. The bartender showed up. The food came out. We had tacos, nachos, tortilla soup, all the fixings, and hot dogs. Not fine dining, but it was enough that I could make a meal for sure. Took myself out for ice cream after.
I know that Staybridge Suites does something similar, but only a couple of nights a week, if memory serves. Any other places serve supper? I could get used to this! Curious to see what breakfast is like!
