[hoax] Jon Bon Jovi dead at 49

From what I could find on the web, this seems to be a Twitter-based rumor and not true.

It's a shame that people pass along crap like this without checking it out first.

Sea Six, someone sent me a link that looked legit.

Please don't make me any more shameful than I already feel.

I'm sorry, but I don't feel Sea Six's comment was out of line, and I don't think the tone was meant to be harsh. SS was just stating a fact -- "news" stories received in email, no matter how "legit" they look, are very easily verified.

This is a good reminder to all of us to attempt to verify these stories before trying to pass them along as fact. A simple look at cnn.com or google wouldn't take but a minute. JMHO.

With the OPs permission, I think this thread should be deleted immediately!

The thread clearly indicates [Hoax], it will slowly fall to the second page and be gone forever.

It happens to plenty of people, we receive an e-mail, think it's legit, and forward it on. Once I forwarded a missing child e-mail many years ago, and my cousin did me the favor of turning me on to urbanlegends.about.com. There's also snopes.com. I don't believe anything before I "fact check" it thru both of those websites.

It's amazing the number of hoaxes there are out there.
