HIVC points to IHG Points and perks lost through resale

Hello All,
My fiancé and I are looking to purchase a timeshare. We recently made the mistake of buying without doing our research with Blue Green. Luckily we were able to rescind. I am awaiting the 20 day refund window.
It's just the two of us and we have no issues staying at a nice hotel for vacation. We want the option of being able to invite family on vacations with us and use a resort or just book a room for the two of us. So we are looking for a timeshare/vacation club that we can use for both. We do many little 1-4 night jaunts and a couple week trips a year. We have been staying at the Marriott for the last few years, but IHG has some great places also. Plus Marriott maintenance fees are too much, and the higher member levels are out of reach for us. I think a HIVC/IHG seems like the perfect fit if I'm understanding my google searches right...

Any info is much appreciated!
Thanks!!!

My questions are-
Can HICV points still be used for IHG stays? What's the conversion rate if there is one?
Can we "double dip" and gain member levels with IHG using HICV points?
What perks will we not have if we buy HICV resale.
Is there a concierge service- One that helps with best priced flights and things to do at destination.

I think these are the restrictions on the new TRUST POINTS resale but I would check on the regular points as well. Do your RESEARCH happy travels!!

I purchased two small South Beach contracts resale and than added on a small retail package that converted all of the points towards VIP status.
I already purchased Scottsdale from HIVC 75,000 Pts and want to add on to our portfolio. If I bought a resale at Myrtle Beach, it is one of the resorts that continues with the point program that is exchangeable to other HIVC resorts? I should have all the HIVC Program benefits that I enjoy with a larger point value for exchange to other resorts?

Was your Scottsdale purchase direct from HIVC? If it was resale, the points do not transfer and you can only use them at that resort.

Scottsdale was direct through the HIVC. Looking to build up points. What resale company would you suggest?

I have a bit more research to do before buying. Thank you though! Also. I think I want to go through a verified timeshare resale vendor to ensure security and safety. Any recommendations?

I used timesharenation when I got my 2 resorts. They can send you an updated Spreadsheet of all their available timeshares. Best thing about it they are all free. They are very accessible and are easy to communicate with.

Transfer HICV points to IHG
It’s a 4 to 5 ratio
Every 100,000 points end up with 80,000 IHG points.

Plus a fee to transfer, very bad deal, but sometimes one gets stuck with points (like thru Covid) they can’t use giving you a place to put them without expiring.

We purchased a 200k point package based on a unique way I am using them. First year, I rented two weeks and sold the second week to friends. Gave them a deal off retail. Sold above my cost.

So I paid $600 Canadian for a one week stay at Cape Canaveral HICV. Won’t do it every year but it’s nice for the family to get together.
