A tugger just announced buying HGVC thru Ebay and not a reseller approved by Hilton. Will he receive all the Hilton benefits as one who buys thru Seth or another approved reseller?

Did Marbrisa sales promo yesterday. As a last resort, the salesman offered us to buy a resale Carlsbad Seapointe 1 BR, 1 BA and they would give us Hilton points. How is that possible?

Anyone who buys resale, whether from someone employed or authorized by HGVC, a private person, an alien, or none-of-the-above, receives the exact same benefits or perks, as the fool who buys directly from HGVC, except for only one thing (as of for now)... "Elite" status which starts at 14K points -- which is generally considered not worth the extra $$ HGVC would make you pay to get it.

HGVC salesmen handout HHonors and Bonus points like they were Halloween candy. They can do this 'cuz you can't use these points to book either "Home" or "Club" reservations which eats into income-producing inventory, but instead can only be used for Hilton hotel rooms and for "Open Season" units that would go empty otherwise.

While those extra points look like big numbers, they don't actually get you all that much. A decent Hilton hotel room runs 30K-points per night. Once they're gone, they're gone, and you're left an allotment of club-points for which you paid too much.
