Hi,
We attended a meeting at Riviera Beach resort today and decided to opt out of spending 36k for an offer we never heard from other Hilton salespeople. For the first time we were told if we bought a 36k Marbrisa (Carlsbad CA deed) all of our 43k Diamond trust points would then be under the Hilton deed umbrella and we would be locked into no assessment fees and a capped maintenance increase (0.5) max per year. A year ago we purchased a Chicago deed to be part of the HGV Max family. So we currently have 11,520 deeded points in Chicago and 43k legacy Diamond points. We are Premier Plus. Is there really any advantage to the deal offered today?

Thanks

None that I can think of. I have never heard of a cap on assessments. You will always have MFs and they will go up every year. And, unless they take your Diamond points and then give you a deed, you would still have two accounts; one for DRI and another for HGVC. On a related note, you can buy a Marbrisa deed on the resale market much cheaper.

I don't know how they get 36k points at Marbrisa, nothing on the point charts match that number, even selling multiple weeks. Was it 36k points or 36k dollars to purchase?

Sounds really fishy, agree with Husker, never heard of capped fee and no assessments.

There is no such thing as a capped .5% maintenance fee increase. No assessments usually doesn't happen under trust based ownership but what are the chances of an assessment really and will an assessment ever cost you $36K?
