Hello, At the risk of sounding frugal, I will ask this question

Three of us from the family are going to be staying at Hilton Garden Inn on 35th street in Manhattan, NYC for TEN days and this isa family vacation

As a new Gold member we are entitled to free hot breakfast but now I found out it is for only for two registered guests. We have three registered guests

When I called the HGI they told me third person will be charged at $16.95 per breakfast and they have no reduced rate for HH members stying in the same room etc all

IS there anyway around this? Your experience please within the system please

Thanks

Those are the rules.

There's no way around it.

Golds and diamonds get a special menu from which to order. I can't remember if you're given a certain number of items or a couple of extras in addition to an entree and beverage. Anyway, it was more breakfast than I eat, and I took an extra item I didn't want at the time to go. So depending on what you eat, it's possible for two people to take enough to go for the third person.

Plus there's a grocery store nearby, so you could trade off which two eat in the restaurant.

Or you could consider that the three of you are having breakfast in Manhattan for only $16.95. :)

One of the others could sign up for the AMEX HHonors credit card that gives you gold status for the first year. :)

Many times, we've been happy with a muffin or danish and coffee in the room.
A standard American breakfast everyday for 10 days wouldn't appeal to me.

So the idea of someone staying in the room and others sharing with them, or buying food for them, seem sensible. Spending ~$200 for breakfast for a 10-day stay not so much, although it may pale in comparison to how much this trip costs overall.
