I see a great list of recommended restaurants on Hilton Head in the Marriott forum. But I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a spot for Thanksgiving Day dining on the island. Our hotel has started a list, but websites for those restaurants don't yet have menus and prices posted. I'd love to get some feedback from anyone who's been there during Thanksgiving. Thanks in advance.

SERG Group Thanksgiving

I don't know much, but I did get an email just today.

The SERG Group of restaurants has special Thanksgiving meals, or at least SOME of them do. Today I got a blast email from SERG regarding the upcoming Thanksgiving menus of two places---see links below. Check out the menus to determine if they might be something you're interested in. You could also contact SERG Group to inquire about anything else they offer. A call to the concierge at your upcoming resort might be helpful too.

I'm sure several other restaurants have great Thanksgiving menus as well.

Thank you. I did call the Marriott Monarch where we will be staying. And those 2 places (as well as One Hot Mama's) were all they know about so far (but at the time of my post last night I could not find the menus on their websites, later found them). They expect to have a better list next week. I was just hoping for some recommendations from those who have been there.

We are currently in the area and have only seen a few advertised so far in the local paper. Skillets Cafe $20.99; Red Fish $45; Sonesta Resort $54. Publix is offering a take-out full dinner option. I don't know details ~ you may have to pick up the day before. If I see more, I'll post.

In today's paper: Old Oyster Factory $45, Ela's Blu Water Grill (no prices or menu), Kenny B's is offering a take-out package starting @ $105, and Wild Wings is offering a Fried Turkey $39.00, no sides, must be picked up the day before. Hopes this offers some options to check in to.

In case anyone is interested in this also, I received the attached list from the Marriott Monarch of restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day.

My friend did most of the research looking for a place for us and she ended up reserving the buffet at the Omni. For $46 you get multiple entrées, sides and desserts. Many of the other restaurants had 4 course offerings for the same price (or close). So the Omni seemed the better deal.

so, for future reference, how did it turn out?

We did indeed go to the Omni buffet. Food was decent. They had seafood selections as well as traditional thanksgiving options. Desserts were disappointing. For the price, compared to other restaurant menu offerings, I think it was a good deal. They also had live music, but it was a strange selection of songs.

For the record, Poseidon was very good. We had a reservation Wednesday night. Service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals.
