Any suggestions on what to do there at this time of year. Any restaurant recommendations? :D

We just got back from Hilton Head--stay at a spinnaker resort in the shipyard plantation. We loved it-was a short walk or bike ride to the ocean and lots of shopping.
While on the island we rode bikes just about everywhere. we went to harbour town and south beach. They are in sea pines--might have to pay 5$ to get in by car but worh it.
We did savannah one day-historic district was great. One day we went to Buefort and did a walking tour, that was great. Both locations are about 40 minutes fron the island and our resrt gave us great maps and directions.
The piggly wiggley gets fresh shrimp every afternoon--they will steam and season it for you---it was wonderful.

We stayed at the Island Links last week at HHI-wonderful resort, even had an alligator sunning himself on the banks there. We enjoyed Hudsons at the north part of the island, it used to be an oyster processing plant and is on the water. Next door there is an upscale restaurant, Charlie's Crab, that has a very reasonable early bird special and is very good.
The trolley tour run by Grayline is very good and gives a good overview of the island's history.

We took one of the trolley tours of Savannah a couple of weeks ago. Not something the family would normally do, but I was with a friend who wanted to, so I went along. It was a nice way to see the city.

We just left HHI today - we had dinner one night at Wise Guys in the Main Street area next to Frankie Bones and it was fantastic. We also went to Savannah for the day and booked a walking tour with Savannah Dan - he was highly entertaining and the tour was 2 hours for $15.00 - we also road our bikes extensively.

Kelso, depending on when you're going, you may be able to enjoy the Hilton Head Choral Society's Christmas Tour of Homes on Dec. 6th. Another TUGger, MULTIZ321, posted about it one year and he made it sound lovely. There are a couple other things on their calendar that may interest you, too.

Charleston

There are a couple of threads in the archives about Charleston. I have a second home downtown Charleston and can answer any specific questions you have.

We will be doing a day trip there from HH. Any recommendations on how to BEST spend the day. We are 60 years old.

I'd say start with a carriage ride from the market area. After that, shop the market, have lunch, and then either take a boat trip out to Ft Sumter or go south of Broad and visit one or two museum houses and just stroll around that area.
