Hi
I just booked Disney for March Break March 13- 20 2009. What can I expect for weather? I will be coming from the Mannhattan club to meet up with friends. It does not have to have beach weather but a nice break from the winter weather would be great. Other than Orlando I have not seen much come up on II during this week. Thanks Dave

Not warm in my limited experience. The only time we went Spring break, it was cold and windy.

Living in the low country, I can tell you that you will not have snow. We have beautiful weather all year but not consistently. If we go below 40, it is short lived. There are no promises. Last Sat, there were lots of folks in the ocean and it is very warm today. The flowers should be beautiful in March. A trip to see the azaleas in Savannah would be great. Lots of folks come here for St. Patricks Day as Savannah as one of the largest celebrations in the country.

We usually go the last week of March and it is in the 60s and 70s. In '07 it was so warm that we were able to wade into the ocean and splash around at knee-level.

Hi, Dave.

We go to HHI every other year for March Break and we love it! You can expect temps to be in the mid-60s to low-70s during the day and slightly cooler overnight - cool enought to require a sweater if you're going out for dinner. Every time we go to HHI, we manage to spend lots of time on the beach in (yes!) our swimsuits :)

We were in HHI last March, third week. It was breezy and cooler than we liked but we still hit the beach and rode bikes all over the place. The flowers were incredible and not to be missed. The azalyas are so beautiful and have been planted everywhere. See if the resort has a heated pool. If so, you'll be fine with some swimming on sunny days. We did not go into the ocean since it was really too cold. But still wonderful to stroll the beach and enjoy the sites. We will be back in HHI March 09 at Royal Dunes. Can't wait!:)

Thanks every one for their replies. I am looking forward to the seeing Hilton Head. I have a week booked at Barony beach for the end of October. It will be my first visit to the area. I am also looking forward to seeing the trees and shrubs in flower in the spring. It would have been nice to have a location closer to the Ocean but I don't wan't to take a chance and lose out on the Canadian March break week. Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canucks. Dave

I have a lot of pictures of Barony Beach Club if you'd like to see where you'll be staying. Click the photo below and it should take you directly to that particular Webshots album. If not, click the link in my signature below and it will take you to my Webshots home page where you can find our Barony Beach Club album.

We exchanged to Waterside by Spinnaker in Hilton Head for week 12 (March) and it was absolutely beautiful. It was in the mid 70's for two or three days then dropped to mid 60's. It is a perfect time for beach walking and golf. Have fun!

Email me if you have questions. We'll be out of town on the weekends for the next few weeks following the Georgia DAWGS but will be in town during the week.

Thanks again to all for your input. Doug thanks for sharing the great pictures of Barony Beach. I will be bringing my Mom and Dad who are in their early Eighties. We are all looking forward to the visit. It will be interesting to compare the fall and spring seasons. From my previous postings I am sure that I will prefer Barony Beach over the Disney. However, it will be fun to see them both. Dave
