So, I stayed recently for conference at this location as a Diamond Member and had an upgrade to the 10th floor Disneyland View. Wife was less than impressed with the view... they spoke of Fireworks... Not so much

The Hilton Anaheim

777 W Convention Way, Anaheim, CA

The room has a nice sitting area overlooking the pool (two chairs) and the 2 Queen Beds... The weird thing was HGVC was there. Not surprised but not super happy either.

On my way to the Gym, in the basement it seems like they use the lower levels.

There is an observation area on the 14th floor. I'm wondering what the plan is. California is not like Florida and there are some timeshares, but not a huge number.

Maybe this is a trip of a lifetime upsell or let's get you to somewhere ese kind of sell or.. maybe HGVC wants to make CA like Florida???

Does anyone know anything about this?

I have no idea what you mean by making CA like FL? Were you invited to a timeshare presentation? The only timeshares in Anaheim are all now under the Wyndham umbrella. I don't know of any others that are in Anaheim.

It sounds like a hotel you got with Diamond status with your credit card. Right?

There is no HGVC - Anaheim Disneyland. Is this former DRI now HVC?

I think they are referring to a HGVC marketing desk at a Hilton hotel in Anaheim.

Sounds like just an HGVC sales booth at a Hilton hotel. There haven't been any reports here of HGVC converting a hotel to timeshare in Anaheim.

The closest is Carlsbad, and there are active sales there, perhaps that is where the presentation is held.

Maybe it's just a sales booth.

I'm don't recall seeing them at places where there are not units for sale.

Maybe it's like Disneyworld, get tickets listen to the sales pitch? I the basement it seemed like there were weird sales pitches going on, but I may be wrong.

Thanks for the info that there is no HGVC Anaheim. I was searching availability from The Club with HGV Max side and thought there was none (and was disappointed) because I only see the Wyndhams in Destination Xchange (DEX). But, I guess that is how it always was. I guess I'm happy to have access via DEX or Hilton Honors points at the Hilton hotel.

The DoubleTree is descent (nice enough?) and Hilton Honors Points are worth it for the free night if you have Diamond Status. I’m still more inclined to pay/save for even fancier digs, but the Aspire Card helps give you choices. The Hilton has a better gym and view of fireworks in the upgraded rooms. My complaint is the parking costs, but you can walk to Disneyland.

Wordmark and other timeshares go on sale via RCI (and other exchanges) for a descent midweek, offseason, amount plus the parking is $15/car if I recall. Friends have used it, but that have WM points to burn. Still haven't made that work for us.

Make sure to look for extra Vacations at the Worldmark Anaheim through RCI. They can be a great deal compared to hotel rates for week and partial week stays. The only annoying thing is that Worldmark charges for wifi.

There are also disney DVC timeshares, the Grand Californian and the Disneyland villas. I for one, love the grand californian
