Staying at the hilton club (studio) in manhattan at the end of feb/early march. We were glad to get this during a family event. Any places nearby for cheap eats? Nice places nearby for a few nice dinners? Any insights into what we should expect when checking in?

We go to NYC several times a year a year. I prefer eating out in the West Village. We like Aria Wine Bar, Bricola Pizza, and Jack's Wife Freda. It is a few stops down the 6th Ave. subway line. You get off at the W. 4th / Washington Square Station. Subway is the best way to get around in NYC.

Who wants to eat when New York City has become a ski resort?

I found that while looking at reddit (r/newyorkcity) because I used to be able to find discussions about restaurants. But now there's just talk about snow and ice and cold and ICE. And a search for "restaurants" just turned up discussions from years ago.

But I love Chinatown. Wo Hop is a favorite of mine and has been for years. Also, the Vietnamese restaurants in Chinatown are very good.

Where is this located? I'm finding a couple of Hilton Clubs when looking at Google maps. We do have some favorite restaurants, but just need to know the location of where you are.

Not certain, but I think the OP is talking about the original Hilton Club, since that is the only one with the Hilton Club name alone. That is located in the big Hotel at: 1335 6th Ave 37th FL, New York, NY 10019

Okay, that one is close to Gallagher's Steakhouse. I haven't been, but it's very well regarded. Also close to Quality Bistro. Again, haven't been but well regarded. We were going to go there on a trip last year but skipped it due to the weather.

One of our favorites is about an 8 minute walk. Nocello on 55th between Broadway and 8th. Very good Italian food, and not horribly expensive (for NYC).

Yes that's it. I worked right next door at 1345 Avenue of the Americas.
