Hilton Affilated Resort Question

I am in the process of purchasing a Hilton affilated resort timeshare in Ft Myers (Seawatch) and the seller is not a HGVC member. He said there will be a transfer fee. Is this just to record the purchase in Hiltons system or does it enroll me into the HGVC?

Also, instead of joining HGVC, can I just join RCI and deposit my week directly into the weeks system? HGVC shows the week as a Silver (3500 point) and RCI list it as a Red week.

Tell the seller you do not want to be part of HGVC
Then call the resort and ask how much there transfer fee is. That is how much you pay.
HGVC will charge you $399 to become a member. I don't think its worth it to deposit a silver week in HGVC.

Just use RCI or II direct.

Also if you join HGVC, you'l be paying an $85/year.. but that does include your RCI membership

I would not trade that unit for 3500 points. I would use it or trade through RCI. I hope you got a great price or want to use that property as if you bought it to trade in HGVC, your maintenance fees are high.
