We would like to rent our Kauai Marriott Beach Club week in September. We want to go through one of the timeshare rental sites, can anyone recommend which one they like. Thanks!

I am also a novice at renting out since we usually use our weeks. I did use Redweek to rent out one week, which was simple to use. For this listing I didn’t pay for full service, but I did pay a little extra to have the reservation verified. With a previous listing I forked over the extra dough only to pull the listing since it didn’t rent out before the 60 day cancellation period.

I’ve been trying out Koala - if it works, it’s really simple and easy. the do charge a small commission, but I can price my units so that I don’t really feel any loss. Koala also offers to hand hold you through the process which can be beneficial. I have also had good luck here on TUG renting in last minute rental forum, but I have points and can be flexible with dates and locations.

What's wrong with using the TUG rental site to rent your Timeshares on a regular basis?

TUG offers a very targeted audience, and most of the users would rather rent a condo type situation as opposed to a hotel room......

If you get any interest it is great- I had one on there for a long while, finally put it in LMR before I cancelled it. Literally not a single person interested, but remted it easily on LMR.

Start with CraigsList. If you live in a large metropolitan area, you may post there, or in the Hawaii section of CraigsList.
Huge audience.
State that inquiries without phone numbers will not receive a reply.

I have found Craig's List to be very difficult when it comes to listing resort rentals. Craig's List has always stated it is for local purchases, where the transfer is hand-to-hand. It seems they have started enforcing that in about the last year.

My listings are removed very quickly when the resort is not nearby (e.g., a Florida resort and I live in Virginia). Listings for Wyndham National Harbor or Old Town Alexandria stay up. I tried to beat the system by doing a VPN connection to a place close to the resort. Craig's List removes listings made from a VPN connection.

If you do try to post on Craig's List, don't post where you live. I live near Washington, DC. If I want to rent a week in Hawaii, why would I put it in the Washington, DC rentals? Are people who live in Washington, DC going to look in the Washington, DC listings for a resort in Hawaii? It makes no sense! And don't post in both places. Duplicate listings are likely to be removed.

The only thing wrong with TUG's rental site (the Marketplace, not Last Minute Rentals) is you don't get much action, despite the fact it is a targeted audience.
