HHI Grande Ocean - Ocean Side Reviews

New to the user group....

Considering a2BR "Ocean Side" at Grand Ocean in HHI. Any feedback on the Ocean Side villas? It sounds like the views from Ocean Side can vary from resort to resort so I wanted to check on the Grand Ocean specifically.

First...Welcome to TUG!!!

HERE is the GO resort map.

The best way I have seen the Ocean Front/Ocean Side views at Grande Ocean described is by drawing a horizontal line across the entire map directly below the Sea Horse and Sand Castle buildings. Everything above the horizontal line is Ocean Front. Everything below that line is Ocean Side.

That puts all 6 of the back buildings in Ocean Side and and half of the Dolphin and Starfish buildings (the half farthest from the ocean).

Hope that at least helps you visualize which buildings are in which category.

OS is everything that isn't OF. They do not have a garden view category, though I think they should. Some OS rooms will have a view of water, others will see no water. Its just luck of the placement there.
 
We stayed in an Ocean Side room in April and loved it -- we thought the view of the lagoon was beautiful and enjoyed the trees and landscaping. I would not hesitate to stay in Ocean Side view category again.

one of the nice things about GO ocean side units is that you are no more thsn a 2 minute walk ( if that) to the beach. Not every Marriott in SC can make that claim.
