I just don't know what to make of this young lady. She is irresponsible and is not in appropriate office attire.
Clearly she was not honest with the Orlando Police.

Do you all think she is an HGVC Salesperson? Even if she works at a call center something is not right if this represents HGVC sales staff.

At 3:40 in the video she tells the police the office where she works is HGVC.

Another video from Frank Sloup Pinal County AZ Deputy where he provides some commentary on his channel. He quotes her as a lips are moving liar. Just thought this was funny.

Honestly, her outside of office activities have no impact on her ability to answer a call in a call center or process paperwork in an office. This is just rage bait.
But why would anyone be outraged about it?

Yeah. I don't think her management would like to see her report back to the office clearly drunk. She is not being an honorable person to police. Clearly she is not honest. Although she is outside, she would have been back at work had she not been involved in this incident. I also beg to differ about her outside activities affecting career ability. Employers can and do background checks on employees all the time. Not only when you are hired. Your background activity if found to be criminal is cause for termination. Perhaps not HGVC.

Let me rephrase what I was trying to say. I can, in no world, imagine finding video of a Verizon call center employee being arrested and going to complain about it online. Same for HGVC, Walmart, etc. If she was rude to you individually, I get complaining about that experience. This? Just silly.

Some people just want to be mad about something.

The young lady in question here is not complaining about this online.

Not sure if you understand what is going on here. These are videos that are captured by the actual police from their body cameras. There are several enterprising YouTube content creators / creeps / trolls that then request these recordings via Freedom of Information. They review and edit the content deemed worthy to gain views.

Then there are other people including Frank Slope an actual Deputy that has his own channel and other content from his Police Unit. He then creates some entertaining commentary. Sort of takes on a life of it's own.

I just wanted to share the irresponsible conduct this lady portrays in this scene. The Orlando Police are professional in carrying out their duty.

Not mad about anything here. Not complaining either. I find it rather amusing. Also taking a swipe at HGVC as well for the lack of quality in their sales staff. Yes I am calling her a liar inside the call center and outside the call center.

In some way you are offended by this post. For that I am sorry.
Feel free to block my content here in TUG :)

at a minimum, it does not belong in the HGVC forums. Put it in the "just wanted to share" nonsense.
I'm not offended, just amazed people would proactively damage brain-cells by watching more than 25 seconds of that. I can only imagine how wacky it got

I'm damn glad I retired before I ever had to hire many people born after, idk, 1990 ... whatever gen that is. I give today's hiring mgrs some rope. What a pool

I didn't watch for this very reason, and I agree with you completely as to the "appropriateness" of the post here.

I hear that. mrs. brp said she was glad she retired because Gen-Z were making their way into the workforce and managing them was a whole different ballgame that she was glad not to have to play. On the flip side, we have two nieces and a nephew (all twenty-something engineers) who do not fit this characterization, so there is hope.

Cheers.

First IMHO, the young woman is scared. This should be under another TUG forum and not under HGVC. Why, are so many police officers needed for this traffic stop? IMHO.

Wouldn't those young workers be able to run circles around people twice their age? If they know how to exploit the latest AI technology they should be able to get 3x more done in A day.

Should. But it still requires hard work. If the job can be done easily using the AI, then the employee is not needed and they still don't have a job. If it requires using the AI in more sophisticated ways that the AI can't do itself (and that boundary keeps moving), then it takes work. There is an apparent gap between should and do.

Cheers.

Interesting to watch these arrest videos. Looking at the YouTube comments of these videos, people generally have nothing nice to say when the person is wasted, fighting and arguing with the cops. On the flip side, people are generally more sympathetic with their comments when the person takes accountability and is respectful (although those are not as entertaining to watch).

This person is wasted, combative, threatening, lying right and left, and driving without a drivers license (which means no insurance coverage). The way she reacted I would assume that this isn’t the first time she has driven drunk (which may explain why she doesn’t have a license). She could have killed someone. I have zero sympathy for her.

I don’t know what she does for Hilton. She mentioned sales but her role could be something other than sales. Her outfit certainly doesn’t look appropriate for sales. If it is sales, she is exactly the type of person who would say anything just to make a sale, even if it was stretching the truth or outright lies.

Wait! What? I sure hope you're being sarcastic. :ROFLMAO:
First, they DON'T WANT TO get more done. Tools aren't close to the #1 issue.
Second, people have to stop believing all this "AI" nonsense. Just stop. It is FAKE Intelligence, not AI. "AI" is just jargon for the dream end-state. As of today and tomorrow and next month, it is FAKE "intelligence". Here is the reality:

"The use of AI tools in workplaces is resulting in lower productivity due to employees using them to create substandard output, according to a Sept. 22 analysis published in the Harvard Business Review. ... analysis conducted by researchers from Stanford Social Media Lab and behavioral research lab BetterUp, found that employees use AI tools to create “low-effort, passable looking work” (LOOKING. reality is that it is not even "passable" to anyone REALLY GOOD at the work) that ended up generating more work for other employees. Researchers term such content “workslop” defined as “AI generated work content that masquerades as good work, but lacks the substance to meaningfully advance a given task.” (Let's not mention that it is often W-R-O-N-G) Workslop burdens it’s recipient with interpreting, correcting, and redoing the work.

In a survey of 1,150 U.S.-based full-time employees conducted by researchers, 40% said they had received inferior quality work in the past month. ... they had to spend 1 hour, 56 minutes on average to deal with a single instance of workslop.

Not sarcastic. Those youngsters are not getting paid $150k per year right out of college here in Seattle if they are just phoning it in. Amazon demands long hours and many of them are working 6 to 7 days a week. The Amazon and Microsoft CEOs have told staff that if they don't get on board with AI they can find another job.

A) Inflation
B) How much does an employee with 10 yrs experience make? You have confused an absolute # for some kind of relative worth
Amazon demands long hours
and now you confuse "long hrs" with PRODUCTIVITY. Your first post was about productivity. Where are your goalposts?
many of them are working 6 to 7 days a week
according to HBR & Stanford, they spend a huge amount of time fixing the WORKSLOP they get from each other
Amazon and Microsoft CEOs have told staff that if they don't get on board with AI they can find another job
LMAO! AMZN & MSFT plan to SELL billions of $s of "AI". What do you expect the CEOs to tout? LMAO. CEOs say mucho crap, much of it to posture for the BoD. CEOs. OMG, the hours I spent talking to CEOs, knowing that, depending on which CEO it was, 40% to 99% of what I heard was BS. It was that 1%. The "AHA" on that 1% separated the men from the boys. That 1% "AHA" and knowing the right questions to ask to get that 1% were significant parts of the job description

I'm just saying these young workers bust their behinds far more than people back in my day did. The work ethic today is far more serious.

For a subset of these younger workers. The entrepreneur types, yes. By and large, the work ethic lags prior generations according to many studies, some cited above. Not taking away from the hard-working folks at places like Apple, Amazon and Microsoft. Yes, they are real. They're also a minority.

Cheers.

I hate to go offer topic (though the topic of this entire post has been questionable to begin with), but I teach young adults, and I am so sick of people complaining about “kids these days.”

There are idiots in every generation, but by and large this generation works harder and is far more serious than generations past. Just because you don’t understand or associate yourself with a certain demographic does not mean they are automatically less than your own

In my case, it's not about lack of understanding of the generation. It is after reading the results of quite a number of studies on the topic. I don't doubt your experiences with the folks you've come in contact with. But I also know that the studies cover a much broader range of the demographic. It could well be that you have a self-selecting segment of higher-achievers. But I don't doubt the studies I've read on the topic.

Cheers.

Just a gut feeling, and my gut isn’t that small, but this thread seems to have left whatever sliver of topic of HGVC it started with to denigrate an entire generation of people. If any young people were to come looking for help after being suckered in by HGVC salespeople, would they stick around for help? I wouldn’t. Just sayin.
