HGVC Sales Practices Changing?

Considering the price of hotel rooms in NYC, even if we stay for 1-2 nights per trip, and about 5 nights per year, it will still save money in the long run. But maybe I'm missing the implications of the "club" question as opposed to a "regular" TS. The Hilton Club New York, which is the deal we're now getting, is ideal for what we want so, again, I think I'm missing some nuance of the question.
