HGVC Resale booking into HVC resorts

I called and they were able to fix my reciprocal booking window issue. They did tell me I'm not supposed to be max though lol

BTW, what was the issue? I bought District mainly to have early access to NYC as well. Will check if I have to call to get it fixed.

You "might" have access to DEX. I am not sure on that one because it might only come if you own on HVC side.

I just closed on a resale District deed and got Maxed. I have the same hybrid experience where I am charged for HGVC booking fees but free for HVC resorts. In addition, it looks like I have a free Guest Pass every year. I primarily bought The District for the AI benefit, so I will call and ask for it in 2026 if I do not get the free booking benefit across all resorts with the free Max.

Yes they took Max away which didn’t bother me as I bought the deed mainly for DC and NYC. The 15 day reciprocal window was more important to me and let me book NYE in NYC. She also said that I could could pay 2025 AI dues for $0 booking reservation fees but I declined as I really only wanted to book NYE before the 2026 dues come.

Yes, ours are weekly exchanges but the Destination Xtras are any number of nights... Cash though

Same thing happened to me, half Maxed, so free reservations for Max properties, still charge for HGVC res. Had to call a couple times to get AI. I was unMaxed, then Max appeared again after a few days.

No, deeded HVC owners trade in DEX as weeks owners. HVC trust owners trade in DEX as points but I don't believe resale HVC collection trust owners can trade in DEX, only resale deeded HVC owners. Resale Embarc trust owners should trade in DEX as points.

Buying a retail HVC trust (I am not sure if you can buy deeded HVC anymore via retail) gets both Max and DeX.

I just got a new resale Embarc account, not Max added to that.

It's interesting looking at the various booking options vs the standard HGVC sliding calendar. I can see HVC resorts but if I try to reserve it gives me a "you can do that" popup, very odd. It appears the rules are applied after you pick something rather than filtering what is available.

I am looking at the Fee Schedule for Max, and under Club Fees, it states that Resort Reservations-Club Points (Out of Network) costs $129 for phone reservations and $79 for online. Maybe they consider HGVC Properties out of network?

@iftravel, it probably will be expensive to use bHC points to book HVC/BG and even HGVC points. If you like what you see and backdoor max continues, you may want to consider purchasing a cheap HGVC deed in the future.
