I was looking on eBay and found some even-year contracts. How does HGVC handle them? Do you get, say, 8000 points to use for the 24 months, or do you have to use them or lose them by the end of your use (even or odd) year? They're definitely less expensive than 8000 points yearly, I was just curious.

You get 8,000 points to use in every even year. You can save them to the next year for a fee or borrow them from the next year for free. It can vary whether you pay 1/2 the MF each year or only in the even years depending on what the deed is to; you do pay the HGVC club fees every year, which makes the $/pt higher than it is for an annual.

What @Eric B wrote. I would add that while HGVC EOY contracts aren't great for most people's initial HGVC buy-in they are good for someone who already owns HGVC (and thus is already paying club fees) and great for gaining Home Week access to a resort you only want to visit every other year.
